Phishing Emails Titled “Mandatory Update for FY2025 Profit-seeking Enterprise Income Tax e-Filing Software” — DO NOT Click Attachments!

The Fiscal Information Agency (FIA), Ministry of Finance has recently received reports from business entities regarding a widespread phishing email scam. These fraudulent emails are titled “Notice on Mandatory Software Update for FY2025 Profit-seeking Enterprise Income Tax and Withholding Tax from Various Categories of Income Returns”. The phishing emails falsely claim that the current filing software will cease support on April 28 and instruct recipients to download a compressed file (.zip) for a “mandatory update” before April 15. These messages are designed to trick users into executing malicious programs. The FIA strongly advises the public to exercise extreme caution: DO NOT trust, click, or forward these suspicious emails or attachments.

The FIA would like to clarify that the filing period for the FY2025 profit-seeking enterprise income tax is from May 1 to June 1, 2026. For all official software updates and tax-related announcements, please refer exclusively to the Ministry of Finance’s e-Filing and Tax Payment Service website at https://tax.nat.gov.tw. Please be advised that the Ministry of Finance will never request users to download software via email or any other unverified channels.
