Privacy Right Notice

Thank you for visiting the “Fiscal Information Agency, Ministry of Finance” (hereinafter referred to as the FIA). Your personal privacy rights are absolutely respected and protected by FIA. In order to help you understand how the FIA collects, processes, uses, and protects the personal information you provide, please be sure to read the following information in detail:
1. Scope of application of privacy notice
This right of privacy notice (hereinafter referred to as this notice) applies to the collection, processing, use, and protection of personal information involved when you apply for taxation businesses or services at the FIA.
2. Collection of personal information

(1)When you apply for businesses or services at the FIA and need to provide personal information as the applicant, according to the needs of the case the FIA will ask you to provide the latest information such as your name, ID number, phone number, e-mail, residential address, and permanent address, etc.

(2)The personal information data files kept by the FIA are published in the personal information protection area on the FIA's website by statute for your reference. The summary table of keeping and management personal information items which is kept in each division of the FIA includes:
- The file name of the personal information.
- The division name of keeping and the contact information.
- The legal basis and specific purpose of keeping personal information data files.
- Categories of personal information.

(3)The FIA is obligated to protect the privacy of all interested parties and will not modify or delete your personal information data and files at will. This can only be done with your prior consent or under the following circumstances:
- Through legal means.
- To protect or maintain the rights or ownership of relevant people.
- To perform the statutory duties of all relevant FIA authorities.
3. Choice of Personal Information

(1)When it is necessary to verify your identity for your business or service application, the FIA will ask you to provide your personal information. If the use of this information is different from the purpose of the original collection, the FIA will seek your consent before using it.

(2)If the use of the personal information differs from this notice or the notification of a specific service, the FIA will provide effective ways for you to choose not to use your personal information for these purposes. Unless the FIA has received your consent in advance, the FIA will not collect personal information or use for the purpose not stated in this notice or related notifications.

(3)You can refuse to provide your personal information to the FIA; however, the FIA may not be able to handle businesses or provide specific services for you.
4. The use of personal information
The FIA will never provide any of your personal information to other groups, individuals, or private companies, except in any of the following situations:

(1)Cooperate with legal investigations by judiciary.

(2)Cooperate with relevant authorities for investigation or use according to their duties.

(3)Share your personal information with your consent in advance.

(4)Legal requirements: If necessary, the FIA will follow the laws, orders, subpoenas, arbitration, judgments, and sanctions of the Republic of China to provide appropriate information to statutory agencies, which may include your personal information.

(5)nternal analysis and research purposes: If the FIA needs to use your data for internal statistical analysis and research reporting purposes, it will appropriately de-identification your data (masking, concealment,

internalization, and K-anonymization, etc.) in advance, making it impossible to identify specific interested parties.

(6)Outsourcing business: If the FIA provides your information to an outsourcing party who is entrusted to execute businesses and has signed an outsourcing contract with the FIA, the FIA will require the outsourcing party to establish security maintenance measures in the contract and can only use your information for executing the FIA's service, and comply with the FIA's personal information management policy, and any other applicable confidentiality and security maintenance measures.

(7)Organizational adjustments: If the FIA makes organizational adjustments in response to organizational reforms, the FIA will ensure that all personal information involved in these adjustments are kept confidential and notify you before the personal information is transferred and is constrained by another privacy notice.
5. Sharing of personal information
Except for the provisions of this notice the FIA will not exchange or use any of your personal information to other groups or individuals.
However, to provide you other services or preferential rights (such as lucky draw for related business promotion, etc.), the FIA may need to share your personal information with a third party who provides the service or promotion. If the FIA shares your personal information with such third party, the FIA will add the description of the information sharing object on the event web page or related written materials.
6. Access and correction of personal information
When you handle taxation business, electronic invoice, or use the services of the FIA, the FIA will try as much as possible to provide you the right to access your own personal information, and allow you to correct the incorrect information, or according to your request to delete the kept data which the law does not specify to keep. Before processing such requests, the FIA will require taxpayers or applicants to provide their identity and specify the information to be reviewed, corrected, or removed. The FIA may refuse to process access requests that are excessively repetitive, recurring, require multi-technical support, endanger other users’ privacy,or are very impractical (for example: requesting information stored on backup tapes, etc.) or simply unnecessary. You can request to check and to correct your personal information by visiting the local government taxation authority within the county or city. Some services of the FIA may use different procedures to view, correct, or delete users' personal information. For detailed information about these procedures, please contact customer service personnel for such inquiries.
7. The accuracy of personal information
When the FIA processes your personal information, it will strictly abide by the original purpose of collecting information and the contents of this notice or any applicable specific service inform. The FIA will refer to the established practices of the data collection and storage from other public agencies, to improve the collection, storage, and processing of the necessary personal information for the FIA to perform its statutory duties. The FIA will take reasonable measures to ensure the correctness, completeness, and immediacy of the personal information processed, but will rely on the concerned individual to update or amend their personal information when necessary.
8. Information security
The FIA will take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized viewing, tampering, disclosure, or destruction of data, including the internal review of data collection, storage, processing practices, security measures, and physical security measures to prevent the access without authorization of personal information files held by the FIA.
The FIA only allows employees and outsourcing companies that provide specific services to access personal information, because they need this information to provide, develop, or improve the services of the FIA. All personnel must comply with confidentiality obligations.
9. Self-protection measures
Please keep your personal information properly and avoid providing your personal information at will to any person or other organization that has nothing to do with you. When you use the service functions provided by the FIA on the website, you must remember to log out. If you share your computer with others or use a public computer, remember to close the browser window to prevent others from reading your personal information or mails.
10. Send service information or send e-mail
The FIA will send service information or email to you after obtaining your consent beforehand or when you register on the website. In addition to indicating it on the information or e-mail that it was sent by the FIA, indication on the information or email will also be provided allowing you to receive this service at any time.
When a third party who needs and provides service or promotional activity sends service information or e-mail, the FIA will provide sufficient descriptions during the event and will notify you before the third party sends it. You are free to choose whether to accept this specific service or activity.
11. Cookies
When you utilize information equipment to use our website services via the Internet, please be sure to read the following information about cookies in detail:

Although cookies can identify the user's computer, it cannot identify the user's identity. You can also choose and modify your acceptance level of cookies in your browser. Due to the changes of the social environment, laws and regulations, and technological progress, the FIA will use the latest technology, laws, and regulations to protect your right to privacy and personal information, and review regularly whether the FIA complies with this notice. Therefore, the FIA will revise and update this notice as necessary.
In order to protect your rights and interests, if the rights granted to you in this notice are changed, the FIA will announce all changes in a public business service place for public review. If there is a major change, the FIA will provide a clearer notification (for example: mail or email to notify you the changes of this notice).
Each version of this notice will be marked with an effective date on the upper right, and the FIA will also keep those versions of the notice archived. Please also check this notice at any time.
