MOF Wins Second Prize of 2020 “Government Open Data Popularity Award” and “Quality Progress Award”

       For the Ministry of Finance's implementation of the 'Awarding Program of Quality Certification and Deepen Application of Government Open Data' of the Executive Yuan, and its continual strengthening and sustainable development of the quality of the MOF open data to provide valuable application of financial information for the public, the MOF was recognized and awarded Second Prize in the 2020 "Government Open Data Popularity Award" and the "Quality Progress Award" at the 2020 Government Open Data Awards Ceremony on November 2.
       The MOF stated that it has submitted 2,025 points of datasets which conformed to gold label certification, 112 of Open Application Programming Interface (Open API) and 50 of platinum label item this year. The conformity of all entries to the 'machine readable, structured and open format' government standard shows the MOF's long-term dedication to open data optimization and efforts to meet the needs and expectations of the public, thus garnering it the "Quality Progress Award".
       The Ministry affirmed that the Fiscal Information Agency, MOF has provided daily updated 'Nationwide Business Taxation Registration' dataset including tax code number, business entity name and capital since 2004, which is accessible to use for integrating open data from each department and institution and making further value-added applications. As of the end of October 2020, it had 288,000 pageviews and 37,000 downloads, allowing it to win second prize in the "Government Open Data Popularity Award”.
       The MOF has provided real-time and practical financial open data for public use on the "Government Open Data Platform" (https://data.gov.tw) since 2003, and has continuously updated to improve accuracy, ease of use, and structure of the data quality in accordance with the open data policies. The Ministry appreciates the high recognition and support from all walks of life for winning the awards for the second consecutive year. It will continue to listen and respond to public needs, refine and improve the quality and quantity and extend applicable benefits through government open data with spirit of excellence in the future.
