E-invoice wins the international recognition of “RFID Green Award”

  E-invoices issued by the Ministry of Finance was awarded “RFID Green Award” by RFID Journal in recognition of carbon and paper reduction , the concept of environmental sustainable development and contribution of electronic invoice operations using radio frequency identification technology.

  RFID Journal is an international media focuses on RFID technology development and commercial application. Since 2007, it has held annual competitions with outstanding products and services that contribute greatly in RFID-related field.“ RFID Green Award” is given to the group that has demonstrated the best use of RFID technology to improve the environment, increase recycling or enhance sustainability‧


  The winner of “RFID Green Award”, Fiscal Information Agency, Ministry of Finance said that there are about 8 billion uniform invoices issued annually in Taiwan and the amount of paper consumption equals to 80,000 trees felled as well as the 3,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions generated along.

  Meanwhile, electronic invoice applies RFID technology and multi devices to replace paper invoices, significantly reducing unnecessary paper waste and carbon dioxide emissions and revealing the key factor of winning the award.
  RFID Journal commends outstanding applications of information and excellent benchmark model worldwide by issuing publications and organizing various RFID-related competitions. E-invoice proposed by the Ministry of Finance stood out from a number of finalists and won “RFID Green Award” that has benefits for improving the visibility of promoting environmental sustainability.
