In order to avoid the risk of cluster infection, the declaration period of Individual Income Tax has been extended to June 30, 2020; 4,074,121 declaration cases have been completed. The Ministry of Finance stated that taxpayers can make more use of convenient online declaration services. To complete tax declaration at home and avoid the risk of infection, those with card readers can use NHI card or Citizen Digital Certificate to log in to the Individual Income Tax system; for those without card reader, in addition to using electronic certificates, they may also go to the convenience store to print out the Household number and inquiry code by KIOSK.
In addition, in order to reduce the burden on the public caused by the epidemic, tax refunds will be made one month earlier this year. Those who have completed the online tax refund before June 1 had already processed on June 30 if approved by the tax collection agency as the first batch of tax refunds; those who completed the online tax refund from June 2 to June 30, if approved as the second batch of tax refunds, will also have their tax refund processed earlier than July 31. The Ministry of Finance will issue the tax refund according to the tax refund method selected by the taxpayer, and taxpayers are reminded to check for the transfer of tax refund to their account.
